I thought having a kid was going to ruin my life, but after 2 years, I can say that I couldn't be happier. There is nothing in this world like experiencing fatherhood, and sharing the experiences of childhood with your son. 

It’s as if you can live through your own forgotten experiences of infancy, albeit in a vicarious sense. I'm sure my son's next stages will also be reminiscent of my own life. 

I've also reveled in a greater understanding about what my father's first experiences were with fatherhood. You get this feeling of the circle of life and how connected 3 generations really are. Maybe when I become a grandfather I will experience this on a fourth level, but it won't be the same because I never met my grandfather.
